Sajak has been the host of Wheel of Fortune since he took over for Chuck Woolery in 1981. He is 73. White joined the show in 1982 and the duo have been closely identified with the show for decades.

The show shared a picture of the game board displaying the message 'Get Well Soon Pat!'

On Wheel of Fortune, contestants spin a wheel displaying various dollar amounts. Whatever number it rests on is the value of every correct letter they guess. If the contestant guesses a correct letter, White reveals every instance of that letter on the board until a contestant can guess the entire phrase.

In the game show world, Jeopardy host Alex Trebek is undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer. He revealed in September that he needed to undergo a second round of chemotherapy.

Host Pat Sajak got riled up on Wheel of Fortune Wednesday night, after a contestant questioned one of the puzzle answers. Contestant Darin McBain, whose mother was a three-day champion on the show in 1982, correctly answered a crossword puzzle but challenged the validity of his answer.

The puzzle was for things that begin with the word “kitchen.” McBain correctly guessed, “Cabinet, towels, oven, sink.” After winning the puzzle, McBain asked about one of the answers.

“Kitchen oven?” asked McBain. “What was that? Who calls it a ‘kitchen oven’?”

Many fans agreed with McBain, and several even took to social media to voice their support.

I agree...who calls it a Kitchen Oven. #WheelOfFortune

Sajak didn’t agree with either McBain or the fans apparently, because he started yelling at the contestant.

“Don't!” Sajak exclaimed. “You won! Don't argue, Darin! ... You got the puzzle. Ungrateful players! I've had it!”

“Ungrateful contestants!” Pat’s not having it tonight. 😂😂😂 #WheelOfFortune

McBain barely missed out on playing for the bonus round puzzle as he finished in second place. But at least he ended up taking home $15,350 and an apology from Sajak.

“I'm sorry I yelled at you,” said Sajak. “It’s just — I don't remember your mother giving us trouble like you did.”
